Ingredients
- 250 grams of Sardeon asparagus
- 2 tablespoons of butter or olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of flour
- 1 cup of milk or cream
- Salt and black pepper
- Grated cheddar or Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Freshly chopped parsley or dill (optional for serving)
Instructions
- Cut off the ends of the asparagus stalks and cut into thin slices.
- Add butter to a microwave-safe bowl and melt on the low setting. If you are using olive oil, skip this step.
- Add the flour to the melted butter or olive oil and microwave on low setting for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Then add the milk or cream and mix thoroughly.
- Add the asparagus slices into this mixture, sprinkle with salt and pepper, then stir.
- Cook in the microwave on medium-low setting, stirring occasionally to make sure the cream does not curdle.
- Check the consistency of the sauce once the cooking time is over and if it is too thick, you can add more milk or cream.
- Before serving, you can optionally add grated cheddar or Parmesan cheese and garnish with freshly chopped parsley or dill.
- Serve hot.
- You can serve it alongside toasted baguette or use it as pasta sauce.
